In City Night Line-trains, reservations are mandatory. In addition to a train ticket you need to have a reservation for your requested category (seating, couchette or sleeper). The reservation can be obtained on the train, if still available, but in order to profit from our specials and/or secure your seat, we recommend to book in advance.
Bookings can be made at most European train stations, online (link), at foreign DB Offices (link), or thru the worldwide booking tool of RailEurope (USA/Canada or worldwide).

Holders of Eurail- or InterRail-Pass
Holders of an Interrail- or Eurail-Pass, or guests with a valid train ticket for their desired route, need just the surcharge (reservation) for their requested category (seating, couchette or sleeper). Please note that your pass needs to cover all countries the train passes thru. For example; travellers on a City Night Line-train from Amsterdam to Milan need a pass valid for the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Italy (even if you just pass these countries). For online bookings, follow the steps untill you get an overview of all categories with rates, then click on the right-hand-side, all the way down on the icon "book extra charge only". Or contact one of the DB Offices (link) near you, check the worldwide booking tool of RailEurope (USA/Canada or worldwide) to make reservations in advance.

Specials
On certain routes are special rates available; either a discounted train ticket with a normal City Night Line-reservation (EuropaSpezial) or special fares which have the route from a to b and the reservation all in one ticket (Spar-Night). These special fares are only available before departure and can not be bought on the train, rates may vary depending on the point of sales and point of departure. Bookings can be made till 3 days before departure, tickets are allocated and limited (early bookings are worthwhile). Special conditions apply to all specials; no refund in case of cancellation or exchange. See if specials are available on your journey!

Up to 4 resp. 6 bunk-berth. Pillows, blankets and sheets are provided. Washing facilities and toilets in each car. A women-only compartment is provided on every train.
Seated Coach
Comfortable reclining seat in an air-conditioned open-saloon car or compartments with 6 seats. Washing facilities and toilets in each car.
