In 2011 2.74 billion passengers travelled with Deutsche Bahn’s trains and buses in Germany alone. Furthermore, Deutsche Bahn operates more than 25,500 passenger train runs daily on its approximately 34,000 kilometer long, modern rail network. The fleet of ICE high-speed trains consists of 253 trains. With 250 direct connections to 80 foreign cities, Deutsche Bahn can be considered not only as a national rail carrier, but also as an international service provider.
