Prepared for the carriage of bicycles
Bicycle and luggage storage
The combined luggage and couchette car has space for 20 bicycles and a small storage area for skis/snowboards, pushchairs etc.
Bicycles are carried free of charge, but you have to have an international bicycle ticket. This can be purchased at the ticket counter or on board City Night Line and costs EUR 10 / CHF 20 or EUR 9 for journeys inside Germany (EUR 6 for BahnCard holders).
Reservations are compulsory for a bicycle space, also for tandems and bicycle trailers. The reservation can be made when you book your ticket.
Tranzbags (international bicycle ticket required) and sports equipment will be carried free of charge subject to space. Advance notice of Tranzbags can be submitted to the City Night Line booking office. Please inquire about the carriage of large and bulky sports equipment. The train attendants are entitled to refuse the transport of Tranzbags and other excess baggage at any time if insufficient space is available. Please note: some routes offer only bicycle carriage (lines with space for 8 bicycles).
