The historic city centre has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1992
...a rich variety of cultural and architectural delights. There is an inspiring view from Prague castle, high above the city in the district of Hradschin. Artists, musicians and tourists meet for creative purposes on the famous Charles Bridge – the statue of Saint Nepomuk watches over the busy scenery.
The Astronomical Clock on Altstädter Ring is a particular magnet for tourists strolling through the city centre, as are the many coffee houses and pubs selling beer.
Prague is a unique complex full of statues. High above the city towers Prague castle, which is built in an interesting mixture of all artistic styles. The historic city centre is on both banks of the river Vltava and consists of 6 formerly self-governing towns which were merged in the 18th century: the Old Town, Josefov (the surviving part of the former Jewish quarter – today part of the Old Town), the New Town, Malá Strana, Hradčany and Vyšehrad. Here you also find most of the historic monuments, museums and galleries. Source: Quelle: http://www.praguewelcome.cz
